As a parent, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have Coach K as our PE coach. Coach K truly understands that children’s needs go far beyond physical activities. He recognizes that each child is unique and progresses at their own pace socially, emotionally, and physically. He creates an atmosphere of trust and encouragement and is dedicated to fostering a positive experience for every child. Every session is a blend of fun and creativity with innovative games and exercises that keep the kids excited while enhancing their physical skills. His holistic approach, focusing on physical skills, character development, and a joyful atmosphere, has helped my children build confidence and skills without feeling the pressure of comparison. We first met Karon (“Coach K”) when he taught our son baseball, and we immediately
knew that he has a gift for coaching kids. Our son was reluctant to play at first because
he’d never played before, but he quickly joined in because of Coach K’s welcoming
spirit. He is gentle but firm, warm and accommodating of every child, and his joy is
infectious. He brings the best out of all of the children that he teaches, from zealous
athletes to shy and reluctant participants. Nobody sits on the sidelines of his classes
because everybody wants to be a part of his class. When we saw how confident our son
had become, we started signing up for Coach K’s classes without even looking at what
sport he was teaching—we just wanted our son to learn more from him and his
generous spirit.
We have appreciated Coach K even more as our son has had other, less effective
coaches who run pointless drills or just let the kids scrimmage without any input. Coach
K always has a purpose to his activities, which he uses to patiently show kids proper
playing techniques, instruct them in the rules of the game, build confidence, and
encourage good sportsmanship. Best of all, he truly loves teaching kids, and it shows in
everything from the way he speaks to the smile that never leaves his face. I would trust
Coach K to teach any sport to children of any age, interest or ability level. He’s just that
amazing.
We are in awe of Coach K! He's been teaching an outdoor homeschool PE class for us for the last year. He motivates and inspires the children to push themselves and try new things. Compared to other active group classes we've been in, I find Coach's approach to be more positive and gentle while still keeping a good handle on the group (the kids are engaged the entire time). He really understands children. Our kids are learning to be team players, to be good "sports" when they win and lose, and to take care of each other. They're learning a variety of skills and games and are excited to come back every week because Coach K keeps it interesting every week. All of the families in our weekly class are deeply grateful for Coach K. I highly recommend him!
I have so deeply appreciated Coach K's offerings for Outdoor PE. My 6yr old son was pretty resistant to things like organized sports where there was competition and being in virtual school, he didn't have a lot of opportunities for sports education.
Coach K has an energy about him that immediately gets the kids engaged and onboard. He is warm, funny, deeply caring and present with all of the kids- as a group and individually. He has the type of magic that really gets the group moving as a whole. The kids are always beaming at the end of class-laughing and giving high fives. I have never seen such an incredible supportive atmosphere.
My 6yr old is always thrilled to go to his classes and as a parent i have so appreciated Coach K's flexibility and solid communication. I cannot recommend his classes enough.
